On January 8, 2015, Truck Logistics began field testing NDL360, to determine the potential benefits that it might provide to our fleet of drivers.
Specifically, we were looking at fuel mileage gains, extended oil drain interval and various other engine related benefits that could be determined.
Additional observations being recorded, included a quieter and smoother running engine, as well as improvements in acceleration, when pulling loads.
The initial truck test was conducted on a 2007 Volvo, driven by Tim Davis, owner/operator. The starting mileage was 1,210,972. At 1,232,800 miles, or 21,828 miles driven with NDL360, in the engine, the initial results were evaluated.
Not only did the truck run quieter and smoother, the fuel mileage had increased from a baseline of between 6 to 6.25 mpg, to a new average of between 6.8 and 7.2 mpg.
That represents an 8.8% to 20% gain in fuel mileage, depending on weight, route, and driving conditions! Since Tim, like many other drivers in fleets, is averaging about 2,500 miles per week, this fuel mileage gain and the ability to extend his oil drain intervals by an additional 5,000 to I 0,000 miles, will result in a NET annual savings of between $5,000 to $7,000!
We also believe that this technology will help to reduce other fleet maintenance expenses and extend the usable life of the truck.
Since this initial test, we have begun to equip other trucks and drivers with NDL360, in efforts to help them become more profitable in their profession, as well as experiencing Jess maintenance downtime. If you are involved in the truck logistics industry, we would highly recommend that you use NDL360.
